Creating a SAR - Which Type Do You Need?
Fisar offers four routes. This page explains which one to pick, and links to a full tutorial for each.
Click New SAR and Fisar asks two questions. Answer them correctly and everything downstream is straightforward.
First question: what are you doing?
| Option | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Create a SAR | You are handling a request for an internal or external individual |
| Process media | You need to detect and redact faces in images, audio or video |
Media can be linked to an existing SAR, or run entirely on its own.
Second question: who is the request about?
If you chose Create a SAR, Fisar asks who it concerns.
Choose based on the individual whose information is being requested, not the person submitting the request. A parent asking for their child's data is a request about the child.
Internal individual
A current member of your organisation - an employee, student or volunteer.
External individual
Someone outside your organisation - a parent, customer or former member.
Upload documents
You already hold the data. Upload a ZIP and it runs through the same pipeline.
