Creating a SAR - Which Type Do You Need?

Fisar offers four routes. This page explains which one to pick, and links to a full tutorial for each.

Click New SAR and Fisar asks two questions. Answer them correctly and everything downstream is straightforward.

First question: what are you doing?

Screen asking what would you like to do, with options to Create a SAR or Process media

OptionUse it when
Create a SARYou are handling a request for an internal or external individual
Process mediaYou need to detect and redact faces in images, audio or video

Media can be linked to an existing SAR, or run entirely on its own.

Second question: who is the request about?

If you chose Create a SAR, Fisar asks who it concerns.

Screen asking who the request is about, with options for Internal individual, External individual and Upload documents

Choose based on the individual whose information is being requested, not the person submitting the request. A parent asking for their child's data is a request about the child.

Whichever route you choose, the request joins the same six-stage pipeline and is reviewed the same way. See How a SAR Flows Through Fisar.
