Connecting Your Systems
Which systems Fisar connects to, how to connect them, and the one-connector-at-a-time rule you need to plan around.
Fisar searches the systems you connect. Integrations shows what is available and what is currently connected.

Connecting a system
Connecting uses single sign-on. Fisar never asks for end-user passwords.
Open Integrations
Select Integrations from the left-hand menu.
Choose a connector
Click Connect on the system you want to search.
Sign in as an administrator
Authorise with your organisation's admin account, not the DPO's own account.
Accept the permissions
Grant consent. The connector then shows as connected, with a Disconnect option.
A DPO cannot authorise a connector using their own credentials. Connecting requires a tenant or workspace administrator to grant consent.
We will do this with you
The administrator is often not the DPO, and school IT capacity is limited. Fisar will either remote in to your machine or sit alongside you on site to complete the connection.
You do not have to arrange this yourself. Ask at info@fisar.co.uk and we will set the connectors up with you.
One connector at a time
This is the most important thing to understand before planning a request.
Several connectors can be attached to a DPO from the organisation account. But when running a SAR, only one connector can be searched at a time.
To search a different system, you must disconnect the current connector and reconnect the other. A request spanning Microsoft 365 and Google is therefore run as two separate passes.
Plan for this: decide which system is most likely to hold the data, run that first, then repeat if you need the second.
What a connector can reach
The data Fisar can find is bounded by the permissions granted at consent, your licensing, and your retention settings. If a search returns less than expected, permissions are the first thing to check.
